First President of Pakistan was Gen. Iskander Mirza. He was also the last Governor General of Pakistan. He was selected as the president of the country by the members of Parliament and he took oath of his office on March 5, 1956. The office of President was introduced by the first constitution of Pakistan which was passed in 1956. The status of Pakistan was changed from a dominion to a Republic.
