Khewra Salt Mines: Largest Mines of Pakistan
Salt Mines Khewra is the largest mine of Pakistan which is situated in Khewra, Jehlum. It fulfills the salt requirements of the country as it is the second largest salt mine of the world. These mines were discovered by Alexander The Great’s horses who started licking these rocks when the army was resting during his Asian trip. The total length of the tunnels of these mines is about 40 km. Pure salt rocks are present at some places of the mine. A lots of visitors visit these mines every day because of the beauty and transparency of the rock salt.
