Where Hollywood film industry is located?

The world famous Hollywood film industry is located in the city of Los Angeles of the state of California in the United States of America. This is where all the major movie studios of Hollywood are found and where most of the big Hollywood stars live. Johnny Grant has been the Mayor of Hollywood from 1980 till January 2008. After his death, no one has received this honor yet.

Hollywood is a famous spot for tourists from all around the globe. The most famous regions of Hollywood, popularly known as the “heart” of Hollywood, are the Hollywood Boulevard and the Highland Avenue. A few of the most visited tourist attractions in these regions include the Kodak theatre, Madame Tussaud’s, Ripley’s Believe it or not and many more such famous places.

H. J. Whitley is known as the “Father of Hollywood” as he was the one who suggested the name “Hollywood” for this place. He opened the first major hotel there in 1902, called the “Hollywood Hotel”. The fame of Hollywood as the major center of movies of the United States began spreading in 1920s. The process continued till the 1940s after which, Hollywood became well-established and well-known as the center of the movie industry of the Unites States of America.
