The capital of Russia is Moscow, a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific center of the country, as well as Europe. Situated on the Moskva River in the European Russia, it is the site of the Moscow Kremlin. Christianity is the predominant religion in Moscow, also being the capital of Orthodox Christianity.

The climate here is humid continental, with warm summers and cold, long winters. Moscow has world renowned architecture, and is known as the site of Saint Basil’s Cathedral, as well as the Cathedral of the Christ the Savior, and the Seven Sisters; its transit network is also known as one of the city’s landmark, due to the extensive, rich and varied architecture of its 185 stations.
