The least populous continent of the world is Antarctica. It is not the smallest continent in the world as it is nearly twice the size of Australia. The reason for lowest population is that, about 98% of this continent is covered with ice. That’s why being the coldest continent on earth, Antarctica is not suitable for residence. The lowest temperature on the Earth has been recorded in Antarctica, which was -89.2C.  The dry and cold weather of this continent doesn’t allow humans to have a permanent residency there. Its estimated population is about 1,000-5,000 with no permanent residents. And this population normally includes the researchers who stay there for some time for carrying out scientific researches.
