Dakar is the main seaport of Senegal. Dakar is  located on the Cap-Vert Peninsula, on the country’s Atlantic coast. Its location is on the western side of Africa that is an advantageous departure point for trans-Atlantic and European trade; this fact gives its growth into a major regional port.
