Air France: National Airline of France

Air France is the airline of France which started its services in 1933, on the domestic level. However, now Air France is providing its passenger carrier service to the entire world. The first international Air France flight, from Paris to New York City took place on June 25, 1946. It started as a privateer, in the late 20th century a progress began to privatize the airline. After the Second World War, the company was nationalized and Societe Nationale Air France was set up on 1 January 1946 to take manage it. Later on, the French government announced to privatize a greater part of its ownership and a privatization program was launched in 2002. In 2004 Air France attained the Dutch airline KLM to create Air France–KLM Group, one of the leading air hauler in the world.
